'Sub Noctem', Gauche Surrealist-inspired painting
Course: Junior Core at George Mason University, Fall 2023
The class was given total creative freedom in this research-based art project. The intention was to get ideas for our senior project. I had lost touch with my hobby of painting and wanted to reconnect with that passion of mine. At the time, I was also considering using painting as my medium for my senior project. (which eventually changed to being screen-printing),
During this time of my life I was facing a lot of mental strife. I found working on this painting to be a great relief from the stress and a powerful vehicle for transmuting negative energy into something beautiful and tangible.
